Library and Media Center

The library at Glendora High School has a collection of approximately 25,000 books as well as an audiovisual collection. It also houses more than 30,000 textbooks and 10,000 supplementary books used in the school. The library and technology center hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is open to students and the public.

Our librarians are Ms. Ann Johnson, and Ms. Liz Monell. They can be reached at extension 228.

Student I.D.'s are required to check out materials in the library. Most materials are checked out for a two week period. Overdue books cost a student 10¢ a day, and students will be charged for lost books at a pro-rated cost of the book. Students will be charged a $5.00 fine for damage or removal of the bar code. A fine will also be charged for any damage which occurs during the period the student has the book checked out. This fine will vary with the extent of the damage.

If students do not return the actual books they have checked out, they must pay for these books or their grades will be withheld. The library rules at GHS are consistent with public library rules in order to maintain high citizenship standards.

We also maintain subscription services to two excellent on-line research tools. They are:

Contact Mr. Massey for passwords for these web sites. Additionally, we have a subscription service Grolier's online encyclopedia at www.go.grolier.com. The Username for this site is "glendora". The password is "high".

The entire Glendora High School library catalog can be found online as a "Web Collection". No password is required.

Teacher Web also has many research and information tools students can use.

The Glendora Public Library also has an extensive array of research tools for GHS students.
