History of Glendora High School

In 1958, Glendora High School was completed and gradually replaced Citrus Union High School, which had been located on what is now the Citrus College campus. Citrus High School had served our community for over sixty-five years.

Glendora High was built on land purchased from Mr. Clarks Gordan. This land contained an abundance of oak trees which continue, to serve as the school's landmark.

On June 19, 1959, 188 students formed the first graduating class and were the first to hear the Alma Mater which was composed by a police officer and a student of Glendora High School.

The traditional oak trees standing on the campus symbolize the heritage of Tartan strength and endurance. "Hail Glendora, Hail to Thee".
